Some useful sites
The Tom Rauch, W8JI website
Tom has put on his site a number of very useful and enlightening articles and notes. The site is a bit disorganized but Tom regularly adds some new article or comment, and improves and corrects existing ones.
This is mandatory reading and reference for every amateur radio operator interested in radio technique.
Tom is a radio engineer, has a laboratory with certified instruments and is the designer of an important number of equipment and accessories currently on the market, from baluns to amplifiers. Tom exercises the rare privilege of having a sharp critical sense about practically anything related in some way to radio; this is noticeable in his comments on eham.net, the top-band reflector and other internet forums where he patiently answers hundreds of questions always with the greatest precision and good will. His radio station is a true marvel.
The Rudy Severns, N6LF blog
An important collection of very good quality articles about antennas. Rudy has contributed a series of excellent articles on ground systems for verticals to QEX magazine; they can be downloaded from his site. Rudy is one of the authorized operators on the experimental 630 meter band (500 kHz).
The Owen Duffy, VK1OD website
Articles mainly backed with models or experimental measurements on a bunch of topics. All very interesting. The software and calculators section is among the best on the internet for that matter. The transmission line calculator is an essential bookmark.
Nobody really understands why the site went down. A pity.
The Green Bay Professional Packet Radio, N9ZIA website
A long list of articles, software and links on various topics. Excellent collection of resources for amateur radio operators.
